Free Skills Support for the Workforce

The Skills Support for the Workforce programme is providing free support to staff through the delivery of work-related skills training.

The Skills Support for the Workforce programme provides free workforce development to upskill your existing staff through workplace training.

They can support your business in reviewing your workforce development plans, identify staff skills gaps and deliver training to boost your bottom line.

This free programme offers your business:

  • Training Needs Analysis
  • Opportunities for your staff to achieve qualifications
  • Refresher of staff literacy or numeracy skills

They can offer free City and Guilds qualifications leading to the Award in Mathematics and English or Award in Business Finance, along opportunities for staff to complete the following:

  • Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering
  • Level 2 Award in Health and Safety
  • Level 2 Employability Skills
  • Level 2 Award in Business Finance

To be eligible your business must be an SME (less than 250 staff) and based in West Sussex, Brighton & Hove, Lewes and the Gatwick Diamond.

All staff must have contracts of employment.

The minimum time commitment to complete the Award in Mathematics or English, along with one of the above additional topics, is 10 hours. This can be delivered intensively over two full-days or 5 x 2 hour sessions.
