The Brighton & Hove Cycle Challenge encouraging workers to ride to work will run from now until the end of March
The challenge is being funded by the Sustainable Travel Transition Year fund from the Department for Transport, and aims to get more people cycling across Brighton & Hove this year. It also helps to prepare the city for our brand new Brighton & Hove Bike Share scheme which will be launching later this year. Further details can be found here
It's a fun, free competition between workplaces to see which can get the highest percentage of staff to try riding a bike in March.
It's completely free for organisations and individuals to take part. It only takes a minute to register and there will be great prizes for individuals and the winning teams.
To get started, please register your organisation on the Brighton & Hove Love to Ride website below. Please then contact the Challenge Manager – Fred Ellis, by phone or email, to discuss how to promote the challenge to staff. He will have promotional materials available to engage with and encourage staff to take part.
The benefits of encouraging your staff to cycle include
- reduced sickness absence
- a more energised and productive workforce
- reduced need for parking spaces
- reduced traffic and pollution, and improved air quality
The Challenge also provides a fantastic forum for friendly competition and networking with other local businesses and is a fun and free team-building initiative for your staff.
