• Local businesses to join in the festive spirit at community event where guests ‘bid’ for prizes by donating their time • Time2Give’s Charity Christmas Ball confirmed for Wednesday, 9th December 2015
A Charity Christmas Ball with a twist is returning for its second year at Brighton’s Grand Hotel in December. Aiming to increase partnerships between local businesses and the not-for-profit sector, the affordable Ball features an auction where no money changes hands – instead it’s volunteering hours which are pledged in return for sumptuous prizes.
The event, starting at 7pm on 9th December, is hosted by Time2Give in partnership with Community Works and Business in the Community and aims to raise 1,200 hours of donated time covering a wide range of skills to boost the voluntary sector across Brighton.
Small and medium businesses will come together to provide a platform for increased networking between entrepreneurs and local charity and community organisations. Last year’s Christmas Ball included appearances from Guy Lloyd & Sophie Corbett. Time 2 Give aims to have at least 12 charity/community organisations in attendance on the evening, meaning that each table has someone who can talk about their not for profit organisation and how volunteering can make a real difference.
For more information about the range of ways in which businesses can become involved this Christmas – including sponsorship and auction prize donations, please contact Gail Bainbridge at The Time 2 Give Team firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.time2give.org.uk/. Tickets cost £55. A table of 10 can be purchased for £440 (with one of the seats allocated to a charity or community organisation). Tickets are available by visiting Eventbrite.
