Over 200 businesses signed up to the Living Wage
Over 200 businesses, charities, social enterprises and public sector organisations have now signed up to the Brighton & Hove’s local Living Wage Campaign spearheaded by the Chamber of Commerce and supported by the city council.
Launched in 2012, the Brighton & Hove Living Wage Campaign is led and managed by Brighton Chamber and aims to encourage local businesses to voluntarily pay all employees at least the Living Wage rate (apprentices and interns are exempt) currently £7.85/hour outside London. Set independently and updated annually, the Living Wage is calculated according to the basic cost of living in the UK and is the amount required for people to live a decent life, rather than just survive.
