A wealth of interesting information on the local economy including a breakdown of job creation in the city and where 37,000 outbound commuters are going every day. Fascinating reading.
Both inbound and outbound commuter numbers have increased over the decade between the last two censuses. Now over 37,000 people leave the city to find employment. Unsurprisingly London accounts for the bulk of them but seven destinations, including Lewes and Mid Sussex account for 62% of commuter destinations.
Lewes also provides the greatest number of workers coming into the city to work [8,478] with Adur in second place [6,615].
