. . . five have a zero rating on the Food Standards Agency food hygiene index which means they are required to make urgent improvements to continue trading. Which ones are they?
China Town [Saltdean Vale], Indian Kitchen [Church Rd, Hove], Little Devil Rose [Western Rd, Hove], Sukhothai Palace [Middle St, Brighton] and the Lovely Jubbly burger van were all rated zero. Ninety five others had a rating of just 1 which also means that they require major improvements to the way they operate.
However, a total of over 2,200 had four or five stars which equates to over 83% of the city’s 2,555 restaurants and takeaways and nearly 93% have three stars or above which is generally considered to be the threshold for satisfactory hygiene.
