The Business Forum’s Business Crime Reduction Partnership [BCRP] was awarded a distinction in the prestigious Safer Business Award from the Association of Business Crime Partnerships (ABCP) which confirms the city is a safer place for its businesses and shoppers.
The Brighton & Hove BCRP, which is the largest crime reduction partnership in the UK, is audited every two years and has to undergo a stringent process to ensure that it operates to nationally recognised standards and to the highest levels of data integrity. To ensure those standards are maintained, partnerships are inspected by ABCP before being accredited.
Sandy Hobbs from the ABCP praised the scheme for its high level of partnership working and its innovation and commented that Brighton & Hove BCRP works with many more crimne prevention agencies than the average BCRP.
Business Crime Manager Lisa Perretta also chairs the Sussex wide network of BCRPs and has already met with new Police & Crime Commissioner Katy Bourne to discuss the wider role of BCRPs as funding for mainstream policing continues to be reduced.
