Consultants Roger Tym & Partners were appointed on 11th October to review the current Brighton & Hove economic strategy which was published in 2008 on the cusp of the global economic downturn
The strategy was also published before the Green Party was voted into office in May of last year and the new administration is keen to place a greater emphasis on reducing the city's carbon footprint in the light of continuing concerns about global warming.
Five companies were interviewed by a panel comprising Geoff Raw [Brighton & Hove City Council Strategic Director of Place], Steve Allen [Board member of the Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership], Vic Borrill [Director Brighton & Hove Food Partnership] and Simon Newell [Brighton & Hove Strategic Partnership’s Head of Partnerships & External Relations].
For the purposes of the review Roger Tym & Partners has joined forces with BioRegional, the award-winning social enterprise that formulated the principles for One Planet Living. After an intensive period of consultation, the work is expected to be completed by February 2013.
