Administration rules out sharing a Chief Executive with Lewes
Supposedly in response to an email from the leader of Lewes District Council - James Page - Brighton & Hove City Council leader Jason Kitcat has ruled out any arrangement whereby the two local authorities could share a Chief Executive after the departure of John Barradell.
The CEO of Lewes – Jenny Rowlands – was previously the Director of Environment but was one of four directors who were replaced by new Strategic Directors in July 2010 [see earlier story]. Commenting to the Argus, Jason Kitcat was quoted as saying, “While [councillors] are keen to do more shared services, Brighton & Hove is a unique place that deserves its own Chief Executive” John Barradell announced his resignation earlier this month [see earlier story] and three of the four strategic directors are also leaving the council before the end of the year [see earlier story]
