John Barradell

Brighton & Hove CEO to leave

John Barradell, who was appointed in July 2009, announced his intended departure from the city council on Thursday to become Chief Executive of London's Square Mile.

Describing the job as CEO and Town Clerk of the City of London Corporation as a "truly unique opportunity" John Baraddell is expected to leave the local authority in the autumn although it is often the case that outgoing CEOs are put on "gardening leave" during their final months in office.

The City of London includes the financial district known as the Square Mile and also the Barbican Centre; it has 24,000 businesses and 9,000 residents.
