Peter Pan grows up
The council owned Peter Pan Amusements site on Madeira Drive to the west of Yellowave, has been vacant for several years. The internationally acclaimed Karma Royal Group is proposing a £5m zero-carbon development called the ‘Brighton Bathing Pavilion’
This will be a spa resort comprising 4 pavilions open to the public including an indoor/outdoor children’s club, a year round spa and health centre, a beach club and restaurant and an outdoor swim and bathing area. There will also be a 5th pavilion which will be a private member’s club with library. The scheme is projected to support approximately 300 new jobs and generate £10m p.a. for the local economy. The developer envisages working with City College and the University of Brighton to deliver vocational training opportunities and work placements. The decision to grant landlord’s consent for the development will go to next Thursday’s Economic Development & Culture Committee
