Economic Partnership member gets Queen’s Award

Brighton & Hove Economic Partnership member Hugh Burnett OBE DL has been awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion for his work supporting small businesses.

Hugh’s company Enterprise Works based in Newhaven, is one of only 10 in the country to be recognised for its outstanding role in promoting enterprise. The privately funded business incubator is a charity that was established 8 years ago in a 2,130 square metre former factory building. The incubator allows small companies to concentrate on growing while receiving a range of support services including book-keeping, health & safety advice, insurance and help with business planning.

The Company is no stranger to awards and has alreade received two previous Queen’s Awards for Export and Enterprise, Sussex Company of the Year and the UK’s Best Small Manufacturer Award
