Sackville Hotel site planning rejected

Plans to build nine houses on the site of the old Sackville Hotel on the seafront in Hove have been rejected by Brighton & Hove City Council planning committee.

The site was bought by Robert Webb and Michael Deol for £1.5m after the collapse of the roof forced the demolition of the hotel six years ago. The application was for a mock Georgian terrace of eight homes over six storeys and a detached house but it was deemed to be harmful to the character of the Sackville Gardens conservation area.
