City College Brighton and Hove’s successful partnership with Brighton and Hove Albion was celebrated recently at a special launch event for ‘City College @ East Central Brasserie’, the College’s new training restaurant based at the American Express Community Stadium.
The College is renowned for producing such top local chefs as Ben McKellar (The Gingerman) and Simon Duncan (Sam’s of Brighton) and the new restaurant is designed to help train the next generation of chefs to achieve similar culinary excellence in a real working environment under the supervision of trained chefs.
“We have had a lot of support from people who believe in our values and City College has always been with us”, said Martin Perry, the club’s Chief Executive.
“It is a great coup for the College to be involved with this wonderful new stadium and this facility is not just providing excellent learning opportunities for our Level 1 to 3 catering students, its also a great means of enhancing our reputation in the community” said Principal Phil Frier.
City College @ East Central Brasserie is open for lunch Monday to Friday during term time, caters for over 100 covers and gives students the opportunity to train towards delivering an express lunch service so that busy customers on their lunch-break can be in and out within thirty minutes.
