West Pier sketches unveiled

Following Mike Holland’s announcement that he wants to rebuild Brighton’s West Pier, the first images of a proposed new development have been released.

Bristol-based architects Angus Meek Associates, the company responsible for the new pier at Weston super Mare, have created 23 computer-generated images [CGI] to give an idea of the overall plan for the £25m reconstruction.

A spokesperson for the West Pier Trust said that the skeleton of the old pier and the land at the shore end were owned by the Trust so any new development would have to involve them.
