Four elements of Brighton & Hove’s future plan that will have dramatic effects on the local economy for the next two decades are out for consultation; it is vital that businesses input into the decision making process. The opportunity ends in five weeks.
Four new options papers will cover;
- Housing
- Employment sites
- Park & Ride
- Student Accommodation
Each paper offers a variety of choices to consider and the City Council’s preferred option. So, for instance, the city needs to decide if it will build 9,000 new homes or 19,000 and where it will put them. It needs to decide if it will protect employment sites or turn them over to residential use. It needs to decide if park & ride is viable and if not what will replace it to keep the city moving.
The Economic Partnership is holding a free consultation workshop in the city centre for businesses on 16th November between 5.30 p.m. and 7.15 p.m. Over sixty businesses have already signed up and if you would like to attend, please contact Tony Mernagh to reserve a space either by emailing tony.mernagh@bhep.co.uk or phoning 01273 735062.
