The City Jobs team with some successful students

City Jobs celebrates success on its 1st birthday

City Jobs, City College Brighton and Hove’s dedicated service that matches local employers with local, work-ready employees, is celebrating a highly successful first year in partnership with brightonandhovejobs.com.

Since the service started, 29% of students coming through programmes for the unemployed (272 students in total) have found employment since working with City Jobs and the service has been working with local businesses such as Sussex Cricket Club, Brighton Pier and Azure Catering at the Amex Stadium to help them with busy recruitment periods, thereby supporting local businesses and helping students find seasonal work. Also, the establishment of a weekly ‘work club’ for local residents has been supporting local people to find work and improve their employability skills.

Key to City Jobs success has been their strong working partnership with brightonandhovejobs.com in service promotion and supporting local residents into jobs.

Gary Peters, Founder of brightonandhovejobs.com, said: “We’ve really enjoyed our partnership with City Jobs; they’re a great team. They provide a great service for both students and local businesses alike and I recommend that students take the time to meet them to gain valuable advice on how to start a successful career in Brighton.”

To mark the success, the City Business Club is hosting a business breakfast event on the 15th November. To book a place at this event or for more information on City Business Club and the training provision for employers at City College, visit www.ccb.ac.uk/cbs , call 01273 667756 (Option 4) or email cbc@ccb.ac.uk

City Jobs advisors can be contacted directly on 01273 667780 or by email at CityJobs@ccb.ac.uk
