In June 2010 Brighton & Hove City Council published a summary of the first stage of consultation for “A Council the City Deserves”. Consultation on Phase 2 will finish on 31 August, and stakeholders are invited to have their say on issues affecting neighbourhoods as part of the Strengthening Communities Review.
The Strengthening Communities Review (SCR) is an important piece of work being led by the City Council’s Communities and Equality Team. Its findings and recommendations will underpin the council’s new Intelligent Commissioning structure and working practices, which are to be established by November 2010 and fully operational in June 2011.
Residents, service users and customers are all invited to inform the council about issues affecting their neighbourhoods by completing a questionnaire either on line using the following link: http://consult.brighton-hove.gov.uk/portal and select “Community Development Survey” or by calling the Communities Team on 01273 296827.
If you choose to download the questionnaire, completed forms should be sent to: Nicky Cambridge, People and Place Coordinator, Communities Team, Policy Unit, Kings House, Room 136, or by e mail to: Nicky.Cambridge@brighton-hove.gov.uk.
To read more about the council’s proposals for an Intelligent Commissioning Structure and working practices, see the earlier story in our Knowledgebase (14 April 2010), entitled “Council reorganisation”.
Completed questionnaires must be received by Tuesday 31 August 2010.
