Brighton & Hove City Council’s move towards a strategic commissioning model will be discussed in detail at the next cabinet meeting on 27th May. The new Chief Executive – John Barradell – has prepared a paper outlining the structural and administrative changes needed.
The new model will include four senior directors appointed by an open recruitment process who, together with the Chief Executive will form the Strategic Leadership Board [SLB]. This will be responsible for all strategic outcomes and ensuring that the priorities of Council members and other Partners across the city are delivered. Members of the SLB will each take responsibility for a broad theme; People, Place, Resources and Finance.
Beneath this seven strategic commissioners will cover areas of service delivery such as transport, housing, planning and community safety etc.
Beneath this 11 delivery units will be responsible for front-line service delivery.
