On the 22 and 23 May, Hove Lawns hosts the city’s first outdoor Spring Food Fair, and the festival atmosphere will be ringing with the garter bells of the dashing Brighton Morris Men!
Whilst the Food Fair feeds the hungry crowds with foreign flavours ranging from Spanish Tapas to Belgium Waffles, those visitors needing retail therapy will also be catered for with a great range of delicatessen items, bottled beers, sweets, plants, herbs and seed bombs!
This free entry event not only gives small local businesses the opportunity to promote their products in Hove’s popular seafront setting, but it also boasts “all the Bells and Whistles” with a Thai Cookery demonstration by Hove-based Chilli Chicks, a French market, Swing music and dance throughout the day, and a chance for the extroverts amongst the audience to try out their Morris dancing potential on Saturday 22nd May with our Brighton experts.
Under 16’s who also want to show off their skills and get creative with cress must send their completed entry form in by Wednesday 19 May, to Cress Head Competition, Spring Food Fair, 8-11 Pavilion Buildings Brighton BN1 1EE, or fax to 01273 775214. Download the booking form by clicking on the link below (Microsoft Word Document, 26KB, 26,624 bytes).
Stallholders who have not yet registered for the event can still apply by calling Assistant City Centre Manager, Maddy Carr, on 01273 735442 or by e-mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you think you have seen it all before, Brighton’s Morris Men were recently described by The Times as “Improbably Nimble”. Come down to Hove Lawns over the weekend of 22 and 23 May and see for yourself!
