On the 22 and 23 May, Hove Lawns hosts the city’s first Spring Food Fair, and to celebrate, it’s competition time for the kids.
Children from across the city are being invited to get creative with cress. The 2010 ‘Cress Heads’ competition is open to anyone under 16 and all you need are some cress seeds, water and a bit of imagination.
You could create a botanical bust of your best friend, mum, dad or even a teacher. The Mayor Elect of Brighton & Hove, Cllr Geoffrey Wells will be on hand during the Fair on Saturday 22 May to judge all the entries and hand our prizes to the winners.
To enter, simply fill out an entry form from the link below and e-mail it to email@example.com or post it to: Cress Heads Competition, Brighton & Hove Business Forum, 8-11 Pavilion Buildings, Castle Square BN1 1EE.
There is a whole host of exciting things on over the weekend, the Brighton Morris Men will be dancing the day away and the sounds of the 30s and 40s will come alive with DJ and dancing partners Tony and Jackie Bonehill.
There will be stalls selling local produce from across the region, hot and cold foods, arts and craft and there will be handy hints and inspiration to help you to start growing your own veg at home.
