Following a £1.2 million refurbishment, the existing Grosvenor Casino on the seafront will re-launch as the G Casino Brighton next month bringing a total of 30 new jobs to the local area.
Grosvenor Casinos, which is part of the Rank Group, is a leading European gaming business, based in the UK and listed on the London Stock Exchange. The existing Brighton casino introduced 24hr opening at the end of last year and many of the workforce were recruited at that time.
The refurbished venue, which is over 12,000sq ft in size, has taken on staff to operate three plasma screens, a stage for regular live entertainment, as well as a 40-seater restaurant. Jobs at the Grosvenor Casino in Hove will not be affected by the opening of the new city centre casino.
Sue Moralee, General Manager of G Casino Brighton said: “We’re delighted to have re-branded the former Grosvenor Casino into one of the new generation of stylish, contemporary G Casinos. The G brand is all about giving people a great alternative for a night out and the new Brighton casino does just that. We’re working hard to remove some of those barriers often associated with casinos and believe the new-look venue offers a fun and friendly atmosphere which will be welcomed by the people of Brighton.”
