The council's Health & Safety and Licensing Team has launched a consultation on their service plan for 2010/11. The plan details the work the team will be doing over the next year enforcing and advising on heath & safety issues in more than 9,000 city businesses.
The team provides help with risk assessments, working from height, manual handling,lone working, slips, trips and falls, preventing violence at work, asbestos, hazardous substances, noise and vibration.
Each year the team responds to 600 enquiries and carries out 300 accident investigations and 150 inspections of premises as well as ensuring the city's largeoutdoor events run safely.
