The lighting scheme at Brighton ’s historic seafront bandstand has been shortlisted for a national award at the Lighting Design Awards on Thursday March 11.
The new lighting was installed as part of Brighton & Hove City Council's restoration of the bandstand, which was completed last summer.
The bandstand is lit nightly from dusk throughout the year, with colours changed for different occasions – at Christmas, for example, it was red, white and green, and on Valentine's Day it glowed red and pink.
The lighting scheme was designed by Horsham based Urban Projects and has been shortlisted in the Special Projects section of the awards, which are organised by the Institute of Lighting Engineers .
