Despite the end of the recession, redundancies are likely to continue rising. But help is at hand. The Continuing Employment Support Service (CESS) is a joint initiative between SEEDA and Jobcentre Plus. It is a free service for both employers and employees facing redundancy.
Support for employees includes: CV and interview skills, job search and careers advice, self employment, entitlement to state benefits, pension advice, financial planning, investment and savings and tax credits.
Help for employers includes: free advice and training on how to effectively consult with your workforce about redundancies. The brokers can work alongside outplacement companies or on their own depending on the requirements of the company.
There is no charge for use of any part of this service. If you would like any further information, please contact your Continuing Employment Support Service broker for Surrey and Sussex: Danielle Bailey on 07789302598 or danielle.bailey1@jobcentreplus.gsi.gov.uk
