Road works update

There are still several sunken and broken manholes in the city centre and on Sunday 17 January North Street will be closed to westbound traffic for up to 2 weeks as BT begin the repairs.

Whilst the closure is in place, all westbound services that would normally use North Street will be diverted via the Sea Life roundabout, Kings Road and West Street to pick up normal route at the Clock Tower.

All westbound services travelling from St Peters Church or Edward Street will serve stop Z in the Old Steine instead of stop H. Services travelling along the A259 to Sea Life Centre will be diverted up Lower Rock Gardens, Upper Rock Gardens and Edward Street to Old Steine and stop Z.

Also on Sunday 17 January North Street will also be closed for eastbound services between 0830 and 1300, buses will operate via Queens Road, North Road and Grand Parade to Old Steine.

Buses will operate as follows:

Services 1, 1A, 2, 2A, 81C from Churchill Square via Queens Road, North Road and Grand Parade then travel round Old Steine to turn up St James's Street then normal route.

Services 7, 37, 57, 81A from Brighton Station via Queens Road, North Road and Grand Parade then travel round Old Steine to turn up St James's Street then normal route.

Services 12, 12B, 14, 14B from Churchill Square via Queens Road, North Road, Grand Parade, Old Steine then normal route.

Services 27, 27A, 77 from Brighton Station via Queens Road, North Road, Grand Parade, Old Steine then normal route.

Services 5, 5A, 5B, 22, 24, 25, 26, 28, 29B, 46, 49, 49A, 50 from Churchill Square via Queens Road, North Road, Grand Parade then travel around Old Steine to serve the stops by Royal Pavilion then normal route.
