Businesses in the retail, and tourism and hospitality sectors in Brighton and Hove have been invited to participate in a promotional opportunity at the Amiens Christmas Market in December to promote tourism and increase visitor spend.
Brighton and Hove has been developing strong links with Amiens in recent years, leading to the creation of the White Night festival. The Vice President of Amiens Metropole council has now issued an invitation to our city to participate in their Christmas market, now in its second year, called “Scents of Winter”.
The market itself will be located in the centre of Amiens and will run from 12-27 December 2009. Six chalets have been reserved for cities twinned with Amiens Metropole and Brighton has been allocated one primarily to promote tourism, but may also be used to sell typical products of our region.
Chalets will be available free for participants, and business students in Amiens will be pleased to manage the chalet if representatives from Brighton and Hove are not able to be there for the full two weeks.
To discuss this opportunity in more detail please call: Anita Bungaroo, International Officer at Brighton and Hove City Council on 01273 291079, or e-mail: Anita.Bungaroo@Brighton-Hove.gov.uk.
