Under Section 349 of the Act, all licensing authorities are required to publish a three-year gambling policy statement and the City Council’s is coming up for a review. Time to have your say.
The policy sets out the local authority’s approach to how it will meet the objectives of the Gambling Act i.e. keeping crime out of gambling, ensuring it is fair and open, and protecting children and vulnerable people.
The Council as a licensing authority would like to consult with businesses, residents and other interested parties prior to producing the revised statement.
The current statement and a survey can be found on-line at www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/gamblingsurvey.
Any comments, suggested amendments or improvements and the reasons for recommending any changes must be received no later than 15th October 2009.
Responses can be submitted either on-line or to the Environmental Health & Licensing team, 2nd Floor, Bartholomew House, Brighton BN1 1JE.
