The South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) has approved the giant Serco Group as its preferred bidder to deliver an enhanced ‘Business Link’ business support service for three years from April 2010.
SEEDA claim that business and stakeholder views strongly influenced the design of the new contract and this week’s decision came after full competitive tendering and detailed evaluation of bids.
By setting the bar high, the new contract will deliver more support for South East businesses, for example:
- More investment in frontline advice
- A service that will reach more of the region’s businesses
- More intensive 1-1 tailored support.
SEEDA Chief Executive Pam Alexander said: “We are confident that the new service will provide consistent, high quality support to meet the needs of all businesses in the region.”
