The City Council is consulting on changes to the Core Strategy prior to submission to the government for formal adoption. This is an opportunity for all those concerned about future developments in Brighton & Hove to make their views known.
The Council are seeking views on major changes that are being proposed to eight Core Strategy policies and the spatial strategy. This consultation is focussed on the changed policies only and not the entire Core Strategy document which has aready been the subject of consultation.
These amendment have been made in the light of the previous consultation responses, guidance from the Planning Inspectorate, council priorities and the results of new background studies.
The council is making these policies available for a final consultation period from 29th June to 10th August 2009.
The amended policies concern the following areas:
- Brighton Marina
- New England Quarter and London Road.
- Shoreham Harbour
- Urban Fringe.
- Sustainable Transport
- Infrastructure and Developer Contributions
- Housing Delivery
- Policies for Sustainable Economic Development
The consultation document together with supporting papers including an updated Sustainability Appraisal report are available from the Core Strategy page of the council’s web site. It can also be viewed along with all supporting documents at the public deposit points and libraries listed on the have your say page of the councils’ web page which also has an electronic response form.
Representations on the amended policies must be submitted in writing by 5pm on Monday 10th August.
