Roger French OBE DL, the Chair of the Business Forum and M.D. of Brighton & Hove Bus & Coach Company, has won the 2009 Passenger Transport Award for Community & Stakeholder Management.
Managers at all levels in the UK's public passenger transport industry were rewarded for their skills, talent and commitment at the Passenger Transport Management Awards ceremony held in London on Friday 12th June.
Roger's award was designed to recognise the hard work and effort which goes into representing the passenger transport industry to the travelling public and to local government, businesses and other local stakeholders.
The judges were seeking a person who demonstrates effective thinking, implementation and leadership skills in advocacy for the public transport industry, its employees and its customers at local authority or regional level, working with stakeholders, customers and their representatives to deliver improved services, facilities and customer perceptions.
For over a decade Roger French has been active across the local community. He plays an active role, not only as a founder member of the Brighton & Hove Business Forum and member of the Economic Partnership but also as Chair of the Local Strategic Partnership (one of only a handful in the UK to have a business Chairperson) and Chair of Trustees of the Martlets Hospice.
