Footfall figures from w/c 8 June 2009, available to download here for free, show the count down 2.6% from last week to a total of 264,663. Continuing the downward week-to-week trend for a second week running but the figures show an increase on the same week in 2008.
The count has caused a marginal gain in the cumulative weekly total (the average footfall for the first 24 weeks of 2009 compared to the same period in 2008) with a climb from -1.2% to -1.1%.
Data for the same week in 2008 is actually down by 1.8% on 2009 figures, but this positive news is somewhat undone by the city lumbering behind the national benchmark by 4.5% . A week day high of 50,952 was recorded on Saturday 13 June.
The pdf document is 104kb and gives access to hourly distributions, including a breakdown of the totals for the days of the week and annual performance comparisons dating back to 2006.
