Industry experience and preparation for employment are key aspects of foundation degrees at City College Brighton and Hove and FdA Music Production students have recently had work experience in two of the South’s leading studio complexes.
Brighton Electric and Church Road studios have successfully been recording bands and solo artists for years. Now, the College has formalised an ongoing agreement with Brighton Electric to offer four final year students a six month internship whilst they study on the course. Studio Manager James Stringfellow says: "Working with City College brings new talent and ideas to our facility while we can offer interns a solid grounding in a highly professional environment."
Music Production Course Leader Matthew Hodson says.
“This will give the students first hand experience of assisting some of the in-house sound engineers and eventually running their own sessions. It will be great for their CVs when they’re seeking employment in the industry - there is no other experience like actually being part of a recording session.”
