The Willow Lane Industrial Estate (proposed by the Willow Action Group) won its BID ballot with a straight majority of 93.46% representing 95.23% of rateable value. The turnout was 41.7%.
South London industrial estates have developed a good track record on establishing Business Improvement Districts. All three of the three BIDs within the the South London Estates Excellence programme have been successful.
The programme is funded by the London Development Agency and run by Soloman. Garratt Park won their ballot in December 2008 and Kimpton Industrial Estate in February 2009.
Priorities for the Willow Industrial BID include fighting to re-open a bridge that has been closed for several years, enhancing the CCTV camera system and improving estate signage.
Upcoming ballots include:
- May 19th - Eastbourne
- June 18th - Dunfermline
- July 21st - Gloucester Canal Corridor
- July 23rd - Kingston (renewal)
