The funding will help to deliver online resources; an internship scheme involving 100 SMEs and 100 graduates; additional skills training; consultancies; 3 skills fairs; training workshops for 100 graduates; 2 enterprise networking events and evaluation activities.
Sussex Univeristy faced stiff competition to get part of the £50m “Economic Challenge Investment Fund” - a government and HEFCE fund to encourage universities to help people through the downturn. £280,000 has been awarded to the University of Sussex with match funding provided by the Regional Development Agency (SEEDA), Brighton and Hove City Council and other partners.
