City unemployment rate increased by over 700 in February

The latest government figures show a 12% increase in the number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) in Brighton & Hove in February and an increase of more than 4,000 across Sussex.

Figures released by the UK Statistics Authority show a February total of 6,881 people claiming JSA in Brighton & Hove – an increase of 737 people from January. Across the UK the number out of work now stands at 2.03 million.
