Brighton Carnival Invites You to Bring Brazil to Your Business

Brighton Carnival will take place on Sunday 12 July this year, and in the build up to parade day, the Community Interest Company is offering businesses Samba Team Building Workshops, and the opportunity to join the Parade. Last year, over 15,000 people watched the parade and there were 600 people from 24 different groups taking part.

Brighton Carnival, like many community organisations, relies on grants from funding bodies such as The Arts Council England South East, corporate sponsorship and from individual giving. As a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, all money raised is put straight back into the communities it works with.

Sponsorship packages start at just £35 per head for your employees to learn Samba techniques in the workplace! And for those businesses determined to keep a high profile, there will be the opportunity to join the main parade. Businesses can advertise their strength by getting in costume, gathering up their employees under the company banner and showing off in front of the expected crowds of over 15,000.

The Carnival focuses particularly on working with Brighton’s local communities as well as organisations that help the disadvantaged, the homeless and unemployed people of the city, as well as people with disabilities and mental healthcare issues.

The message of carnival is that by joining together on the streets in celebration of everyone who makes up Brighton & Hove, the streets become a safer and more friendly place. The workshops held in the build up to parade day are often a time when individuals find some escapism and a chance to socialise, learn new skills and express their ideas. They also provide opportunities for young people to learn valuable skills for employment and for moving into Brighton’s creative economy.

Please contact Brighton Carnival at on 01273 681234 to get your business involved.
