Brighton Visitor Card aims to offer visitors and locals alike an incentive to explore, spend and stay longer in the city at a wide variety of quality businesses.
The wallet sized card includes a number of offers and discounts for popular businesses in the city, ranging from national chains through to Brighton's signature restaurants and attractions.
Support from First Capital Connect, City Cabs and Churchill Square, along with a number of major hotel properties has ensured that the first run of 10,000 cards will be available completely FREE of charge until the end of February 2009.
A partnership with the Argus newspaper will promote the benefits of the card to local people who are also welcome to enjoy the benefits of the product.
The Brighton Visitor Card is a collaboration between two local businesses, Sharp Media (publishers of the free monthly Brighton Visitor magazine) and employee incentive scheme operator Quidcard.
The card is a direct response to the changing economic climate, and follows considerable consultation with many businesses, organisations and individuals across the city over the past six months.
It follows hot on the heels of Brighton & Hove City Council's Buy Local campaign, which is encouraging residents to shop locally to boost the local economy.
The Brighton Visitor Card demonstrates the commitment of local companies to the on-going success of the Brighton and Hove economy.
