Businesses in Kemp Town Village have joined forces with St George's Church and Brighton Steiner School to involve the community in a Christmas event, culminating in a Late Night Shopping experience to beat the credit crunch.
Christmas Late Night shopping events have proved successful for the Kemp Town Village Business Association members in recent years, and this year they are attracting shoppers for the week leading up to the event with a Nativity Treasure Hunt.
The main event will be held on Tuesday 9 December from 6pm, with carols provided by the Brighton Steiner School Community Choir and St George's Church Choir ouside Proto at 6.30pm. There will be goodie bags for the children donated by local businesses and late night shopping offers for fashion and gift items, card and wrapping paper, delicatessen products, picture framing and hair and beauty.
The community involvement is being provided by St George's Church in conjunction with the businesses, with a nativity hunt from Saturday 29 November to Saturday 6 December. Eleven nativity figures hidden in participating shop windows must be found, and prizes will be awarded at 8pm at the Late Night Shopping event on 9 December.
