Brighton is being billed as a great place to be during winter in a new marketing campaign. The new campaign also reverts to the use of good old fashioned paper as opposed to virtual media in reaching the market.
The council’s tourism arm VisitBrighton has just launched its new winter brochure using the slogan “Our city isn’t just for the summer”.
While its main aim is to attract visitors, officials say it is also a valuable guide for residents.
Packed with information on activities, events, concerts, festivals and family fun, the 25-page guide is available from the Visitor Information Centre next to the Royal Pavilion or at www.visitbrighton.com
Forty thousand copies have been printed for distribution at London workplaces and mainline stations to lure trippers from the capital.
Also on the website are many special offers for accommodation, attractions and eateries.
Cabinet member for tourism Councillor David Smith said: “It’s a good example of us working hard to attract business for local companies as part of our priority to boost the local economy. That’s particularly important during this current credit crunch.
“The guide is also great for residents of Brighton & Hove who may have friends and family coming to stay as it is packed full of ideas and information on things to do and events taking place in the city in the coming months.”
