Businesses have long been worried about the impact of the fuel crisis, but now they are worrying about water too. The growth in world population and the effects of climate change are putting water resources under increasing pressure. Southern Water is addressing these concerns in its draft business plan, currently out for consultation, and is inviting businesses to provide feedback on its plans.
Southern Water's Business Plan for the period 2010-2015 examines in greater detail how the Company will deliver its objectives set out in its Strategic Direction Statement and meet and exceed customer expectations.
Later this month Southern Water will begin consulting with its stakeholders, including customers and local businesses on the content of the Business Plan. As part of the consultation, Southern Water will be holding three road shows across its region, one of which will take place in Brighton.
Drop in at any time between 2.00pm and 6.00pm on 16th September at Brighton Racecourse, to see an interactive presentation and have the chance to vote on key issues contained in a draft version of Southern Water’s Business Plan, via an electronic voting system.
Despite the recent torrential rain, water resources are under increasing pressure and this will ultimately impact on business. "For businesses, water is not discretionary, " says Dominic Waughray of the World Economic Forum. "Without it, industry and the global economy falter."
This event, therefore, is an ideal opportunity to influence the priorities of Southern Water who is responsible for managing this increasingly precious commodity.
Feedback received will be used to shape the final version of the Business Plan and will ultimately influence the way Southern Water operates over the next five years and beyond.
Refreshments will be provided.
