Thunder storms and torrential rain have forced organisers of the Unique Brighton Fashion Show to cancel the event. The show was due to take place in East Street at 2.00pm on Sunday 30 August.
Health and Safety officials advised strongly against setting up an open stage with electrical systems in the rain and the weather forecast had predicted prolonged thunder showers for the entire day.
Says city centre manager Soozie Canmpbell, “This is a huge disappointment for everyone involved: the traders; the organisers; the models; the stylists and most especially Rush hairdressers who have worked tirelessly round the clock cutting, colouring and styling the models' hair.
“We are looking at options to run the event later in the week but the long term weather forecast is not good.”
If the show can be postponed rather than cancelled information will be posted on this site.
