Music Composition for Media students held a Music Fair at Komedia on Wednesday 4 June for producers of films, videogames and TV, and a workshop was organised in Sound Creation and Manipulation, showing the latest cutting edge techniques in sound creation. The evening event entitled “Northbrook Exposure”, featuring twelve of the year’s best student acts, worked two stages to an audience made up of band’s followers, students, curious punters and invited Music Industry scouts.
Northbrook College, now an Associate College of Brighton University, is introducing a new BA (hons) Degree in Music Business and Management beginning in September 2008, and as part of the work of the new Course, students will be promoting and working on new events such as Brighton’s Green Wave Festival in Preston Park on 5/6 July. The College encourages its students to promote their own events via their labels A3 music www.a3music.co.uk, A4 music www.myspace.com/a4music, and Resin8 Records, and in addition to supporting the Green Wave Festival, it is now looking for further contact with the local business community.
