Train travellers to the Green Wave eco festival on Saturday and Sunday 5 and 6 July will receive a 50% discount on entry to the festival on production of a valid First Capital Connect rail ticket.
The Green Wave event, organised by the Brighton and Hove Business Forum and New Era Associates, and sponsored and supported by Brighton and Hove City Council, will enable a large number of businesses to showcase their green products and services, and will give festival goers all the fun of the fair with an ecological twist.
The event organisers are encouraging local residents and visitors to the city to travel to Preston Park by sustainable means, and Preston Park Station is just a short walk away. The normal entrance fee of £5 per adult will be discounted to £2.50 for First Capital Connect passengers. First Capital Connect was awarded the prestigious ISO 14001 environmental accreditation earlier this year, and it is believed to be the first UK train operating company to secure the certificate for the entire organisation.
The Green Wave event will run from 11am to 5pm on both days and will be somewhere to spend the whole day with lots of exciting workshops, demonstrations, gadgets and products to see and sample, plus an all-day music stage and both locally sourced and Fairtrade refreshments. There will be additional entertainment on both days on the School and Youth stage, and entry to Green Wave will be free for children. Train tickets can be booked online on: http://www.fcc.trainsfares.co.uk/ and businesses can still participate by calling Maddy Carr on 01273 735442 or e-mailing: email@example.com.
