Brighton & Hove City Council has released £8,000 to match fund projects such as cycle parking, showers and drying rooms which will promote more sustainable forms of workplace travel.
To be eligible for the funding organisations must become members of the Brighton & Hove Travel Plan Partnership and produce a Workplace Travel Plan.
To apply, the council will require a brief outline of your project, the benefits this will bring for your employees, approximate cost and your organisation's commitment to match fund the implementation of the scheme before the end of August 2008.
The application should be no longer than one side of A4 paper and must be received by Friday 30th May 2008.
Ideas for projects can be big or small; bearing in mind the maximum contribution from the council will be £8,000 between all organisations.
The last round of grants, in October 2007, resulted in match funding for Legal & General, Ricardo UK Ltd, Southern Water, British Bookshops and Stationers, Brighton Hilton Metropole, and T N Lawrence & Son, all resulting in increased cycle parking for their employees. A further grant was awarded to Neilson Holidays to install two drying cabinets for use by cyclists and walkers.
