The BHEP has formally responded to the application by Explore Living to redevelop a vast swathe of the inner harbour at the Marina with new homes, shops and a supermarket.
The application proposes to radically remodel the abysmal layout that greets the visitor to the third largest marina in Europe and to favour pedestrians over cars in the public realm.
Together with the Brunswick scheme (pictured above) for the outer harbour which has already received planning consent it represents a real opportunity to transform the under-performing leisure location into a meaningful addition to Brighton’s visitor offer.
