Perhaps you have been thinking of upgrading to energy efficient lighting, setting up a rainwater collection system or even buying a cardboard bailer to help with recycling.  With a Green Action Grant you can make this a reality.

Green Action Grants are designed to encourage businesses to implement a resource efficiency action that will achieve a quantifiable improvement in environmental performance.  Grants are open to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) that are located in Brighton & Hove and East Sussex.

They offer up to £500 to meet 50% of the costs of schemes to reduce waste, energy or water in your company.  It is a condition of the award that you agree to provide tangible data on the resource and cost savings resulting from the activities that you have carried out.

If successful the grant will be paid in arrears once you have completed your activity and you have been visited to verify that the work has been done.

Funds are limited and will be issued on a first come first served basis.  All applications are reviewed on their environmental, cost saving and transferability merits.  Proposed actions must have been completed by 31st January 2008.  Eligibility for an award is subject to state aid rules.
