Last Night (Tuesday 20th November), the Brighton & Hove Economic Partnership hosted a business consultation event at The Grand Hotel to help inform the city’s refreshed Tourism Strategy 2007-2017.
Simon Fanshawe, Economic Partnership Chair, set the scene for the event by asking the business delegates to think about how Brighton & Hove can raise its game over the coming decade.
Adam Bates, Head of Tourism for Brighton & Hove City Council offered some statistical knowledge of who our visitors are and the debate was further stimulated by Tony Mernagh, Executive Director of the Partnership who showed a ‘Tourists Eye View’ video of the city, a short film highlighting some of the highs and lows of a real visitor.
The event was attended by tourism business leaders within the city, whose input in to the joint strategy with the City Council is hugely important. The Strategy will set out the main areas for growth and development over the next ten years; aims which would be impossible to achieve without the full backing of the city’s businesses.
Attendees were asked to report back on a series of questions which were based around the emerging themes. These can be downloaded here, any responses should be fed back to Allison Keech on Allison.firstname.lastname@example.org by the 21st December 2007.
