The Authentic French Market is returning to George Street Hove for a two-day event from 8th-9th November 2007 to attract shoppers to the area, and will then be moving on to Preston Park in Brighton for the weekend.
Street markets add a touch of colour to city streets and give shoppers an additional reason to pay a visit to a particular area. The Authentic French Market is a professionally run continental street market with an excellent variety of produce on offer, and which aims to work alongside the local traders to add value to customers.
On Saturday 10th November the market will move from George Street, Hove to Preston Park, next to the A23 in Brighton, for a two-day event, and will coincide with the Phoenix 26th Anniversary Races on the Sunday.
Phoenix Athletic Club based at Withdean was formed in 1981 by Matt Paterson and Olympic Champion Steve Ovett. They now have over 250 members of all standards, ranging from beginner to elite athlete, and the one-day event in Preston Park will be their 26th race day event in Brighton.
The two events will be held alongside each other and will complement each other. The attraction of the races will bring visitors to the park, and the market will offer takeaway hot food as well as gifts and fresh produce, and will provide additional interest for the race supporters.
