Eleanor Mooney, Project Officer for Brighton & Hove Economic Partnership has been awarded a £500 prize for achieving the highest number of referrals to the East Sussex Learning Champions Project.
The East Sussex Learning Champions project was established by Brighton & Hove Learning Partnership and funded by the European Social Fund. Its purpose was to create a network of learning champions to refer businesses onto brokerage networks which could arrange for bespoke training solutions with providers.
Learning Champions were recruited from organisations that had existing links with local businesses and training advice and brokerage was provided by the People Development Adviser Network via Sussex Enterprise.
The first 100 business to sign up to the project received a £400 bursary towards training suitable for their business and the project was successful in providing training for 217 beneficiaries.
Eleanor Mooney, Project Officer for Brighton & Hove Economic Partnership was a member of the project's steering group as well as part of the network of 130 learning champions across East Sussex and Brighton & Hove.
Eleanor was awarded the £500 prize for achieving the highest number of referrals that led to the take-up of training.
The project has now come to an end and the end of project report will be published shortly.
